Getting Traffic From Youtube The Easy Way

Posted: under Guerilla Marketing Techniques.

Everybody watches Youtube at some point or another, and it’s also a GREAT way to get traffic to your sites or affiliate offers!

The idea, obviously, is to post some videos and to have tons of people watch them and hopefully get some of them to click your link. And it’s not too hard with Youtube. Of course it’s not, you know me! I hate doing anything that involves any kind of work whatsoever. So here is a technique I picked up somewhere along the way that works great for quickly getting videos on Youtube.

First and foremost, you’ll need a bong, glass pipe of another variety, spliff, blunt, or some other smoking apparatus and some good green before we can get started. You’ll also need a few tools for your computer too, but I’ll let you all pick what you want to use for that.

So here’s the basic method: Find a method of ripping the FLV videos from Youtube and converting them to WMV or whatever video format you’d like to work with. I recommend WMV because then you can easily work with them in Windows Movie Maker, which is what I use. Why? Because I’m LAZY! And it doesn’t matter anyways, having shitty videos on Youtube won’t keep people from watching them. Not yet at least…. I do own Adobe Premiere CS3 as well, but honestly, I find the software takes longer to use and is more cumbersome than Movie Maker for the simple tasks you need to complete here.

So go to the Youtube homepage, click the “Videos” tab and find the link titled “Most Watched”. Actually, any of those top links will work, as they all point to pretty popular content. I usually like to look for the most ghetto videos with the most views. Here’s a perfect example: the other day I stumbled across a video that was some Sponge-Bob footage remixed with the Souljah Boy song!?! Yeah, I know…. Retarded. But what’s even more retarded is that this video had like 65 million views! Yeah, so that’s exactly what you want, look for that kind of completely viral garbage. Once you find your target, proceed to rip the video and convert it to whatever format you want to work with. The reason for doing so is because Youtube recently implemented a new system to eliminate duplicate content. Now of course, no one has any idea how exactly they figure out what’s duplicate content and what isn’t, but it is done electronically. You should also be careful not post anything illegal or copyrighted, whatever I may have just suggested above… Youtube is really crackin down there lately.

Many belief that they analyze either the video length or the audio track against those of others uploaded. In either of these cases, simply adding a few seconds of silent blackness on to each end of the video should do the trick, and has also worked for me. I usually add whatever link I’m trying to promote in the blank space I add at the end of videos as well, and I usually throw about 10-20 seconds of blank in at the end and about 1-2 seconds at the beginning. The more at the end, the better. After the video ends, “Related Videos” pops up which will immediately grab the viewers attention away from your URL that is being shown. With the addition of Youtube’s Annotations, Notes, etc you can also now add things like your URL to your videos with a simple to use online editor, and what’s better is that even though they still aren’t clickable, you can copy text from them and paste it in the browser bar. I still use both techniques in my videos, but this new addition from Youtube is truly great. Don’t forget to add the clickable link in the “More Info” section either.

Anyways, once you have your video saved and uploaded to Youtube, the next thing you need to worry about is how you’re going to get your video the boost it needs for the virality of Youtube to take over. What I usually do is to use a Youtube Views Bot to increase the amount of views a video has to the point where other people will start watching it based on “many views it has” as it will get more organic exposure on Youtube as well as perpetuating it’s own growth as this happens. Then just sit back and watch the money roll in!

By the way, this works best for CPA offers that will convert with random traffic or just to get general traffic of course. If you want you can try and target your videos a bit too, it won’t hurt.

If you’ve tried all of this and haven’t been able to grow any videos to a point where they’ll be self-sustaining no matter what you do, don’t give up yet! Another technique I’ve used on different sites over the years is this: find someone with a popular video that doesn’t have any links in it, and offer them a few bucks to throw up your links in the more info box. Some users will even be willing to sell their accounts to you. When some of these videos are getting millions of views per day, you can be damn sure that you’ll be getting more than enough money to cover even a $50 dollar investment within the first few hours. Once again this method works best for random CPA type offers or just getting traffic to your sites.

Now go make some money!
